2-25 Weekly Newsletter

Hi FSK Families,

  • The 2019-2020 calendar and start date is still undecided.  It is possible that we will go back to starting the week before Labor Day, but nothing is finalized.  I will keep you all updated as I find out information.  It sounds as if they may continue with half-days next SY, but again, nothing is final.
  • I will be outlining the budget and staffing model during the March 6th PTO meeting.  In general, it is good news in the eyes of losing Title I.
  • If you know of any potential teaching staff that may be interested in FSK, please have them reach out to me directly and soon!
  • Interested in Volunteering at the Fifth Annual Pasta Palooza, please click on the link!  We need your help!
  • March 1st is a school-wide dress down day.
  • Window installation is going strong!  They will start doing more of the classrooms in the coming weeks.  This will displace students/teachers for a day (or two), but they are currently on schedule and moving at a fast pace (I think!?)
  • We will be partnering with VOLO city to launch a soccer league in the Spring for Elementary aged students!  It is most likely going to be on Wednesdays, but more details will be flushed out and shared in the coming weeks.
  • Heart of America will be redoing the Mural and painting the blue statue out front.  This is likely not happening until Summer, but it will not cost the school anything!
  • We could potential have ANOTHER day of service this summer with a partnership with BOMA!  More details to follow after a walk through in March.
  • While the snow days can be a nice “break”, the late starts, early out’s and full blown snow days have really got in the way of consistency!  Let’s hope the weather related incidents are minimal for the next couple weeks and Spring comes!

You can always reach me at if you have questions, comments, or concerns.
